This is another way to address the responses to religious diversity. The purpose of this research is to investigate the debate on the “new antisemitism” in order to address the evolution of antisemitism in Europe, by understanding the ties that bind anti-Semitism to the larger political community and a seemingly cosmopolitan context. This research draws on, and updates, Hannah Arendt’s analysis, with particular reference to France and Britain.

The Jewish community in the UK seems to be rather diverse. The Germans during WW2 managed to bomb a synagougue on the outskirts of Dublin, a remarkable but somewhat useless example of Nazi anti-semitism.
